I love Sunbeams!

Brace yourselves, oh ye of the Harrisville 4th ward: the Primary Presentation is today and the 3 year olds will be front and center, ready, willing, and able to entertain and delight with nose picking, dress flipping, neighbor poking/hitting/licking, and, very likely, several different Marvel Comic superhero impersonations!

On a more serious note, I had one of my kids' mothers come thank me, in tears, for making her daughter love primary. She said she was really worried how her daughter would transition from nursery into primary and she has done fantastic. She said it's her favorite thing in the world and each Sunday she looks forward to coming. This mother said she knew Primary was a thankless calling but SHE was thanking me.

I was really touched by her thanks. But I will say that I get a lot of personal fulfillment out of teaching these 3 and 4 year olds. When you teach Relief Society (the adult women) or Sunday School (all adults) no one's face lights up each week when they see you. No one runs to give you a hug each week or twirls and shows you their new, pretty pink dress or super cool new tie with basket balls on it. Sure, no one in Relief Society gives you a wet willie, either. But they also don't grin with glee after participating in a game. Or cuddle up in your lap during sharing time. Nor are their snacks and giggles in Relief Society.

So far Primary is my favorite calling, especially the Sunbeams.
